Minnesota Iron Rangers Junior Hockey Club

Press Release

HIBBING, Minn. -- There will be a number of new looks to the Iron Range franchise for the 2012-13 Superior International Junior Hockey League season.

The SIJHL club has announced, effectively immediately, the team will now be called the Minnesota Iron Rangers replacing the old Iron Range Ironheads name.

The Iron Rangers also announced that Steve Chelios will no longer be part of the organization and will not return as head coach and general manager of the club.

In one season at the helm of the squad Chelios registered a league-worst 9-45-2 record as well as going 0-2 in the playoffs.

A search is currently underway for a new head coach/GM and will be made public once finalized.

The Iron Rangers will be holding a tryout camp Aug. 10-12 at Heritage Sports Center in Duluth, Minn.

Cost for the three-day event is $175 U.S.

More information will be made available in the coming days through the team’s new website at www.mnironrangers.com.
