Hounds 18U forward Heger signs NAHL tender

Press Release

The West Michigan Hounds, proud members of the North American Prospects Hockey League (NAPHL), are pleased to announce that 18U forward PJ Heger has signed an NAHL tender with the Michigan Warriors. The Warriors are members of the NAHL’s North Division.

Heger, a 17-year-old forward from Traverse City, Michigan, is in his second season with the Hounds organization. He is currently second in scoring for the Hounds 18U team with 29 points (16 goals, 13 assists) and 26 penalty minutes.

In NAPHL action, Heger has played in 14 games to date, registering 11 points, which ranks second on the team.  Last season, Heger (5’10/180) played on the West Michigan 18U team, where he tied for 3rd in team scoring with 11 points in 22 games played.

Heger’s most effective part of the season came during the last event in Blaine, Minnesota when the forward had five points in five games. He also has three multi-point games this season.

"PJ has a natural work ethic and a will to learn," said Hounds Assistant Coach Rex Trott. "His speed is his best asset and will help him grow at the junior level."

Heger is the first player this season from the Hounds organization to sign an NAHL tender.
