TERREBONNE, Que. – A Brendan Wyatt shorthanded goal 15:49 into the first period proved to be the game-winner as the Central Canada Hockey League defeated the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League Selects 3-1 Friday evening at the Central Canada Cup Challenge showcase event in Terrebonne, Que.

David Bennett tied it for the CCHL at 13:35 while Wyatt buried the difference maker past NOJHL netminder Evan Cormier (North Bay Trappers) two minutes later.
Carl Faucher then added some insurance for the CCHL in the late going to round out the scoring.
Jordan Piccolino picked up the win in net for the CCHL with Cormier suffering the loss.
Player of the game honours went to Rust and Wyatt.
In defeat the NOJHL fell to 0-2 after day 1 play.
They return to the ice twice Saturday as they take on the LHJAAAQ Perron-Burrows side at 1 p.m. followed by a 5 p.m. encounter with the Ontario Jr. Hockey League’s
