More News

Akim Aliu of the London Knights have signed a three entry level deal with the Chicago Blackhawks today. The 2007 2nd round pick spent time with the London Knights last year where he had 28 goals and 33 assists in 60 games. Aliu also spent time with the Windsor Spitfires and the Sudbury Wolves in his Ontario Hockey League career. He was born in Okene, Nigeria. Another NHL prospect, Kyle Okposo who plays for the New York Islanders, dad is from Nigeria.

With Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews leading the way for the Blackhawks, they also have drafted toughness to protect their young stars. Along with Aliu, Kyle Beach isn't afraid to drop the gloves. He's the Blackhawks 1st round selection in 2008.

Speaking of the Blackhawks, their Alumni will take on the Chicago Steel who play in the United States Hockey League on September, 13th. This should be interesting to see if one of the Steel players will go after Steve Poapst who's the Steel Head Coach. Should be a good game to go see.

Frank Grzeszczak will head to the Erie Otters training camp. He was previously was suspended by the team.

The New York Rangers have signed Czech defenseman Tomas Kundratek who was their third round selection in the 2008 Draft. With HC Ocelári Trinec of the Czech Extraliga he recorded one assist in 14 matches. He had one goal at the 2008 World Junior Championships.

This deal probably got done with the fact he will be with the Medicene Hat Tigers of the Western Hockey League this season.

There's a strong possability that
Vitaly Karamnov will be playing with the Dinamo Moscow organization.
