USA Hockey Hasn't Released the U-18 Roster

Well it has been a week since USA Hockey was originally to release the National Team Development Program Under 18 Roster. What's the hold up? There are no reports in the last few weeks about players leaving the team. There was a close one with Drew Shore (Denver University) but he will stay with the program. The Chilliwack Bruins made a late push for his services.

Is it because they are slow putting the roster on the web? They haven't updated the NTDP section of the web site since the end of last season.

Do they understand that people care about the NTDP. When I expect updates and don't get them, I start to wander. Is Jeremy Morin and Cam Fowler still undecided about this year? Is that the reason why they haven't released the roster because it's not complete?

I check different websites each day and I have read nothing that would indicate that these two players have left. If there were any changes, USHR.com would have a headline. They do have a headline that a prep school star has left to join the program. Does that mean Steven Whitney has decided to join the program? We will find out when USA Hockey decides to release the roster.

Hockey Canada has released a Media Guide for the Ivan Hlinka Tournament. It's a great source of information on the players.

It looks like the New Hampshire Junior Monarchs will lose assistant coach Bob Corkum to fill Maine's assistant coaching job. Corkum was a four year standout at the University of Maine from 1985-1989. He was drafted by the Buffalo Sabres in the third round of the 1986 draft. He spent 15 years in the NHL. His son, Kelen Corkum, is on the New Hampshire Junior Monarchs and will be at Maine for the 2009-2010 season.

That's My Take

McCarthy joins UNH recruit John Henrion as ’91 forwards added to the Under-18 Team. St. Louis Bandits ’91 defenseman John Ramage will also be added to the Under-18 Team.

Those three replace three players from last year’s Under-17 Team who have chosen to play elsewhere this season. Zach Golembiewski will be in Indiana (USHL) while Beau Schmitz (Plymouth - OHL) and Bjorn Krupp (Belleville - OHL) will be playing major junior.

Two forwards are able to come in (while only one forward is leaving) because, going back to last year, the NTDP has been carrying one less ’91 forward than they needed to. This was done so as to maintain some roster flexibility, and that flexibility, with McCarthy coming on board, is now being exercised.

You can almost bet something is going down. Otherwise they would of rushed them up.

Could be a couple of defections maybe.

( lolol )

The NOOF would melt if anymore defect to London so hoepfully there is none until next season.

Maybe Fowler is going across the bridge to join Windsor since Panik looks doubtful and that other Euro forward.
