Chiefs set for Saturday debut vs. Eagles at LEC

Press Release

In the history of every franchise, a few events stick out as watershed moments that help shape present and future. For the Langley Chiefs, their 2009/10 home opener against the Surrey Eagles on Saturday, September 12th will take its place as a marker in the continuing development of one of the British Columbia Hockey League's proudest organizations.

The Chiefs are set to mark their first regular season game in their beautiful new arena with a number of special events, including the game being broadcast live on the TEAM 1040 -- the radio home of the Vancouver Canucks -- with play-by-play from Blake Price and colour commentary from BCHL grad and Canucks' network analyst Dave Tomlinson.

For the anticipated 4,000+ fans who will be in attendance at the LEC, the team has scheduled a live pre-game concert with performances from Wakefield Drive and The Conquistadors. An outdoor rink has also been set up for kid's street hockey, while prize giveaways will take place throughout both the pre-game festivities and the game itself

All pre-game activities are set to begin at 4:00pm, with face-off between the Chiefs and Eagles scheduled for 7:00pm.
