Kingston makes two trades

Press Release

Today, the Kingston Frontenacs added defenceman Cameron Odam from the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds in exchange for a fourth round selection in the 2010 OHL Priority Selection.

In a separate deal, the Frontenacs also traded goaltender Mavric Parks to the Kitchener Rangers in exchange for a fifth round selection in the 2010 OHL Priority Selection.

Odam will be entering his third OHL campaign, after playing his first two seasons with the Greyhounds. Last season, he was one of three ‘Soo’ players to appear in all 68 contests, netting 2 goals and picking up 6 assists, in addition to 127 penalty minutes.

“We feel this adds further depth on the back end,” said Larry Mavety, Director of Hockey Operations and General Manager. He continued, “Odam is a big guy and isn’t afraid to throw his size and weight around.”

“With regards to the other transaction, with (Tyler) Beskorowany returning from NHL camp, we had three goaltenders and ice time was going to be limited. Parksie came to us and asked to be moved,” Mavety said.
