BREAKERS DEFEAT WOODSTOCK SLAMMERS

Press Release

Bangor, ME- On Saturday, the Bay State Breakers faced the Woodstock Slammers of the Maritime Jr. Hockey League, ranked #4 nationally in Canada, in Bangor, ME, at 12:40 PM for the North American Challenge Cup and prevailed 6-1.

“I thought we controlled the play for the majority of the first period and second but we didn't capitalize on our scoring chances. Bay Sate executed on the power play and you have to give them credit they played hard and they played a smart patient game and took advantage of our turnovers" commented Head Coach Jason Tatarnic.

The Slammers and the Breakers both toured the University of Maine's hockey facilities and watched the Black Bears host the Northeastern Huskies in NCAA action.

"We enjoy our friendly rivalry with the Slammers. They have a strong team and the difference today was that we scored on our chances, and both of our goalies Blake Dougherty and Kyle MacDonald played well in net stopping 30 of 31 shots. With that being said we will savor the victory," commented Head Coach David McCauley.
