Lauridsen Commits to St. Cloud

The Green Bay Gamblers of the United States Hockey League (USHL) are pleased to announce that defenseman Markus Lauridsen has committed to St, Cloud State University of the Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA). Markus is the second member of his family to commit to St. Cloud, joining his brother Oliver who is junior defenseman with the Huskies.

In his rookie campaign in the USHL, Lauridsen has appeared in 13 games, registering two goals and an assist. The Hellerup, Denmark native tallied a goal in his first career USHL game. His other tally was an overtime game winner versus Waterloo on October 22.

Lauridsen becomes the 15th Gambler off the 2010-2011 squad to commit to a NCAA Division I institution. Others include forwards Alex Broadhurst (Nebraska-Omaha) Austin Czarnik (Miami of Ohio), Robert Francis (Western Michigan), Ludwig Karlsson (Northeastern), William Kessel (Western Michigan), J.P. LaFontaine (Minnesota State-Mankato), Nolan LaPorte (Western Michigan), defensemen Aaron Harstad (Colorado College), Max Hartner (Air Force), Brian O’Rourke (Nebraska-Omaha), Brett Stern (Minnesota State-Mankato), Andy Welinski (Minnesota-Duluth) and goaltenders Adam Wilcox (Minnesota) and Ryan McKay (Miami of Ohio).
