CCHL Tier 1 hands out suspensions to Cornwall players

Press Release

The CCHL Tier 1 Hockey League announced suspensions to two members of the
Cornwall Colts as a result of incidents in their playoff game on Sunday
against the Kanata Stallions. After careful video review and interviews with
game officials, coaches and the players:

Matthew Zanardo received a 7 game suspension for his match penalty for
intent to injure. While no injury occurred, the predatory nature and the
video and referee report showed there was intent and the potential for
serious injury existed.

Michael Borkowski received a 2 game suspension for his major penalty for
charging. While there was clearly, based on video and referees reports no
intent to injure, an injury did occur and the contact could have been
avoided.

Game 4 was played in Kanata Tuesday without incident. The series resumes
Thursday in Cornwall with the Colts leading 3 games to 1.
