BRONCOS TAKE THE LEAD IN ANAVET

Press Release

A week off seemed to do the Humboldt Broncos a lot more good than harm, as the Canalta Cup Champs jumped on the MJHL's Portage Terriers with four goals in the first period, on their way to an 8-2 win in Game 1 of the Anavet Cup Friday night at the Elgar Peterson Arena.

Robbie Ciolfi scored twice in first period, and finished with a three point night. Matt Glowa added a goal and two assists, while Andrew Johnston and Joey Davies each collected a goal and two assists. Adding Bronco goals were Ryan Marshall, Taylor Johnson and John Lawrence.

Both Portage goals came in the third period, including one in the final minute.

Matt Hrynkiw made 24/26 saves in Game 1.

Game 2 goes Saturday in Humboldt, before the scene shifts to Portage la Prairie on Tuesday.
