STADIUM MANAGEMENT COMPANY PROMOTES THREE

Kalamazoo, MI – Stadium Management Company, which controls the Wings Stadium Complex, Wings West, the Kalamazoo Wings and the Kalamazoo Jr. K-Wings, announces three promotions within the organization.

Jim Burlew has been promoted to general manager of Stadium Management Company. Burlew, who remains the general manager of the Kalamazoo Wings, will now oversee the operations of Stadium Management Company including the K-Wings, marketing, public relations, sales and special events.

Promoted to facilities manager of SMC is Jeff Weber, who was ice events coordinator. In his new role, Weber will be responsible for ice events, housekeeping operations, parking, ushers and security. Weber played a vital role in securing the U.S. Curling Nationals to Kalamazoo back in 2010.

Jim Douglass has been promoted to director of sales, after coming over to SMC from Greenleaf Hospitality Group as their senior sales manager, where he was in charge of corporate transient and negotiated accounts. In his new role, Douglass will direct the SMC sales force that oversees the sales for the Wings Stadium Complex, Wings West, the K-Wings, Jr. K-Wings, ice events and when applicable special events.

Stadium Management Company owns the Wings Stadium Complex, the Kalamazoo Wings hockey team, Wings West and the Kalamazoo Jr. K-Wings hockey team. The Wings Stadium Complex is comprised of three buildings; Wings Stadium seats more than 5,100 fans for K-Wings home games and more than 6,000 people for concerts and other stage events. The Annex seats 1,367 for ice events and can seat up to 2,850 for non-ice events such as car, boat, and trade shows. The Cube is the recently of the three facilities and plays host to both ice and non-ice events. All three buildings along with the recently acquired Wings West facility, which is home to Kalamazoo Jr. K-Wings, are available for rental and feature numerous catering and meeting opportunities.
