Éric Lavigne hired as new bench boss in P.E.I.

BOUCHERVILLE, Wednesday, October 7, 2009 - The P.E.I. Rocket today announced the hiring of Éric Lavigne as the team's head coach.

"Éric is a well respected coach who has substantial experience in coaching at the Major Junior Level," said President and Governor Serge Savard Jr. "We are very much looking forward to having him join our organization and lead us into the future."

Lavigne had been the General Manager and Head Coach of the Val-d'Or Foreurs from 2005 to 2009. In 2007, Lavigne led the Foreurs to the President Cup final.
