NAPHL season continues in St. Louis

Press Release

Less than a month after its inaugural event in Minneapolis, the North American Prospects Hockey League (NAPHL) moves to St. Louis this weekend for its second tournament of the season.

All 34 teams - 20 Midget Major, 14 Midget Minor - will take to the ice from Oct. 9-12 at the Rec-Plex, which is located in the St. Louis suburb of St. Peters, Mo.

“We had so many positive reviews from our first event in Minnesota and we’re excited to build on that momentum this weekend,” said NAPHL director Denny Scanlon. “The level of competition is already tremendous and it’s only going to get better.”

The Pikes Peak Miners’ U18 team and the Carolina Jr. Hurricanes’ U16s staked claim to their respective division’s championship at the Minnesota event, which was held in conjunction with the NAHL Showcase Tournament at the Schwan Super Rink in Blaine, Minn.

Over 200 Division I-III college, NHL and junior coaches and scouts were in attendance at the Minnesota tournament.
