GLADES TO RELOCATE NEXT SEASON

Press Release

Selects Sports Management is extremely excited to announce the relocation of the Green Mountain Glades to Saco, ME. The Glades currently compete in the Northern Division of the Eastern Junior Hockey League and the Empire Junior Hockey League and are located in Burlington, VT. This relocation will also include a renaming of the team to the Portland Junior Pirates.

“Kevin Kerr and his staff have done a tremendous job rebuilding the on and off ice product of the Glades. We feel that now is the time to bring this great product and opportunity for our players to our state of the art facility in Saco, ME,” said Jr. Pirates GM Brad Church.

The EJHL offers junior age players the opportunity to compete against elite players and expose themselves to College Hockey programs across the country. During their time in the EJHL and Empire Jr. Hockey League, players also continue to develop off the ice to better prepare themselves to become successful student athletes. The Junior Pirates instantly put themselves at the top of the league in this department with their facility MHG Ice Center and its partnership with OA Associates and Parisi Speed School.

GM Brad Church has witnessed these results first hand.

“We have the unique luxury of offering our players a one stop shop for development with on and off ice training and world class coaches, doctors, physical therapists and strength coaches all under one roof,” said Church. “Our current junior players have shown tremendous improvement in all areas of their athleticism over the past 3 seasons.”

EJHL Commissioner Bob Mainhardt is also excited to add Portland to the league.

"I am personally very excited about this move. The facility and staff in Saco is second to none. Portland will continue to build on the rich tradition that has been created by the Green Mountain Glade organization," commented Mainhardt.

The Junior Pirates will announce their spring tryout dates very soon. Please stay tuned to www.jrpirates.comfor more information.
