Officials, broadcasters named for NAHL Top Prospects

The North American Hockey League (NAHL) has announced the members of the 2011-12 NAHL on-ice officiating crew that have been named to work the 2012 NAHL Top Prospects Tournament, presented by Combat Hockey. In addition, the NAHL also announced the broadcasters for the event, which can be seen live on FASTHockey.

The three referees that have been selected are: Andy Howard, Sean MacFarlane and Brandon Schmitt. The six linesmen that have been selected are: Kevin Cassidy, Dorsey Dick, Garrett Gaydosh, Jameson Gronert, Rick Lembo and Ian McCambridge.

“This is a great opportunity for these officials and recognizes their quality of work this year while officiating in the NAHL,” said Rick Looker, Officiating Coordinator for the NAHL. “The NAHL is not only an important training ground for players, but for officials as well and this is a testament to their development so far within our league this season.”

The NAHL also announced the broadcasters for the event, which can be viewed live and exclusively on FASTHockey, official broadcast partner of the NAHL. Heading up the lead play-by-play duties will be Paul Teeple, voice of the NAHL’s Bismarck Bobcats. Teeple is in his third season broadcasting for the Bobcats and broadcasted the 2010 Robertson Cup National Championship game, in which Bismarck won. Joining Teeple in the broadcast booth will be Joey Battaino, voice of the NAHL’s Michigan Warriors, who will be doing color commentary.

The 2012 NAHL Top Prospects Tournament, presented by Combat Hockey, will be held from February 20-22, 2012 at the Troy Sports Center in Troy, Michigan. 120 of some of the best players from the NAHL will be spread among six teams, who will play in three games each during the event. The event will feature teams from the Central, Midwest, North, South and West Divisions of the NAHL, along with an NAHL 18U Selects team comprised of some of the top players currently playing in the NAHL that were born in 1993 or later.

A live broadcast of the games will be available for through the NAHL’s exclusive online broadcast partner, FASTHockey. Viewers can watch all the Top Prospects games during the three-day event live at fasthockey.com.
