Capitals forward Devin Gannnon is BCHL Player of the Week

Cowichan Valley Capitals forward Devin Gannon has been named the BCHL Player of the Week for the week ending March 25, the league announced Monday.

Gannon was stellar in the high-scoring, seven-game thriller versus the Surrey Eagles, scoring six goals and grabbing four assists in the last five games.

The Kamloops, BC native got the week started with a hat trick and 1st Star honours in Game 3 versus the Eagles, leading the Caps to a 5-2 win, their first of the postseason. He followed up with two goals and one assists in a 7-5 loss to Surrey in Game 4, earning 2nd Star honours. Gannon added points in Game 5, 6, and 7 to finish off the hot week.

Honourable mentions this week go to Washington Capitals forward Brett Knowles (three goals, six assists), Surrey Eagles defenceman Devon Toews (four goals, three assists, hat trick, 3rd Star), Penticton Vees forward Joey Benik (four goals, two assists, 3rd Star), and Coquitlam Express forward Alex Petan (three goals, two assists, 1st Star, 2nd Star).
