Eagles, Mooseheads, Rocket sign five year deal with Eastlink TV

Halifax, NS – Building on its commitment to community and local sports, EastLink TV is proud to announce a five-year agreement as the exclusive broadcast provider for the Halifax Mooseheads, Cape Breton Screaming Eagles and Prince Edward Island Rocket.

“Our customers have come to expect the very best local sports coverage from us,” said Michael Smith, vice president of EastLink TV. “We’re really excited to continue our partnership with the Q League and more specifically, the three local teams in our Atlantic service area. Our viewer ship of Friday Night Hockey clearly illustrates how important local sports coverage is to our customers.”

As the Maritimes #1 Sports Channel, EastLink has been providing its subscribers with compelling local sports coverage for over 30 years.

“We’re extremely pleased to have partnered with EastLink TV for another five years,” said Cape Breton Screaming Eagles President and Director of Business Operations Paul MacDonald. “Friday Night Hockey has become a staple for QMJHL fans in Atlantic Canada.”

EastLink TV has been providing live game coverage of the Halifax Mooseheads for the past 18 years, and has since branched out to provide coverage of the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles and PEI Rocket.

“EastLink’s been a great partner since day one,” said Halifax Mooseheads Vice-President, Corporate Relations and Governor Travis Kennedy. “This agreement comes as great news and we’re positive they’ll continue to do a great job of broadcasting our games to fans in the region.”
