Gould earns scholarship to Michigan Tech

Press Release

Chilliwack Chiefs forward Malcolm Gould has become the fifth current BCHL player to commit to Michigan Tech for the coming season.

Gould, the Chiefs leading scorer this year with 36 goals and 36 assists, will suit up alongside Alex Petan, Walker Hyland, Jujhar Khaira and Jamie Phillips next season with the Huskies. (Phillips committed when with the Powell River Kings but was subsequently moved to the OJHL).

A North Vancouver native, Gould more than doubled his goal and assist totals this season in Chilliwack after posting 14-17-31 a year ago in Quesnel. The 19-year-old posted two hat tricks the final week of the regular season to help Chilliwack clinch a playoff spot.

Michigan Tech competes in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association of NCAA Divison I hockey. The Huskies currently have six BCHL alums on their roster in Bryce Reddick, Milos Gordic, Riley Sweeney, Justin Fillion, Tyler Gubb and Kevin Genoe.
