'Backs veteran forward Mistal makes most of weekend, earns POW nod

Salmon Arm SilverBacks forward Brandon Mistal has been named the Gongshow BCHL Player of the Week for the week ending Nov. 18, the league announced Monday.

Mistal led the SilverBacks to two wins in three games, racking up five goals and an assist in the process. The Kamloops native notched a hat trick and one helper in a 6-4 win over the Merritt Centennials and produced two goals in a 4-3 win over the Prince Geoge Spruce Kings.

The 5-foot-8, 175-pound 20-year-old had the winning goal and was named 1st Star in both wins.
