Crusaders Smith commits to RIT Tigers

The Sherwood Park Crusaders are proud to announce that Danny Smith has committed to RIT for the 2013-14 season.

The RIT (Rochester Institute of Technology) Tigers are a division 1 hockey program that plays in Rochester, New York. The Tigers play in the NCAA division 1 Atlantic Hockey Association.

Smith is currently in his 3rd season with Crusaders. He is 20 year old that hails from Edmonton and played his bantam & midget club hockey with the Canadian Athletic Club. “ Danny is a intelligent player that has a track record of producing offensively” say GM/Head Coach Tim Fragle. “It has been a pleasure to see Danny’s game develop over the course of his junior career as well as having him grow into a leadership role both on and off the ice” says Fragle.

The Crusaders organization would like to congratulate Danny and his family on his commitment to RIT. We wish him all the best in his academic and athletic future.

Smith becomes the 5th Crusader player to commit to a NCAA hockey program from this year’s team.  Matt Tomkins-Ohio State University, Andrew Taverner-Quinnipiac University, Marshall Donald-Northern Michigan University, Mike Berry-Bentley University.
