The Brooks Bandits are proud to announce that 20 year old Defenceman
Chris Muscoby has committed to play for the University of Vermont,
beginning in the Fall of 2013. Located in Burlington, Vermont the
“Catamounts” play in the Hockey East Conference under Head Coach Kevin
Sneddon. Chris is the second Bandit of the season to commit to Vermont
joining forward Anthony Petruzzelli.
Chris is from Airdrie, AB and is currently in his 3rd season with the
Bandits. He was acquired from the Canmore Eagles on January 10, 2011 and
has been instrumental in the success of the program. Prior to playing
in the AJHL, Chris was a member of the UFA Bison in the Alberta Midget
Hockey League. Since joining the Bandits Chris has amassed 20 goals and
47 assists for 67 points in 111 games. He also was a key contributor to
the 2012 AJHL Championship Bandits suiting up in all 14 playoff
contests.
Head Coach/GM Ryan Papaioannou, “Chris has made significant
improvements to his game over the last few years and is most deserving
of this opportunity at Vermont. He has been tremendous for the mobility
of our defence and has added timely scoring to our lineup. Chris is a
great kid that has a very solid academic background which will serve him
well during his time at Vermont. This commitment has been a goal of his
since his rookie season in the AJHL and to see him achieve this goes a
long way in describing his character.”
The Bandits Organization would like to congratulate Chris and his Family on his athletic and academic future.
Chris is the fifth Bandit committed to play in the NCAA joining Patrick
Lee (University of Massachusetts), Anthony Paskaruk (Clarkson), Corey
Scammon (University of Massachusetts Lowell) and Anthony Petruzzelli
(University of Vermont).
