The United States Hockey League announced the CCM and Reebok player awards for the 17th week of the 2012-13 USHL regular season.

Award winners include J.T. J.T. Stenglein, F, Waterloo Black Hawks: The Greece, NY native registered three goals and five assists in three games last week.  He tallied an assist in Tuesday’s 4-2 loss to the Lincoln Stars before exploding for a five-point night (2g, 3a) in Friday’s 7-3 win against Cedar Rapids.  He also posted a plus-four rating in the victory. Saturday night, Stenglein found the score sheet yet again by netting a goal and dishing out an assist in Waterloo’s 4-3 shootout win over the Dubuque.  The 19-year-old is currently riding a nine-game point streak, registering 18 points (5g, 13a) over that span, and has multi-point efforts in four of his six contests since being acquired by the Black Hawks.

Kyle Novak, F, Green Bay Gamblers: The O’Fallon, MO recorded five points (4g, 1a) and a plus-seven rating in a pair of wins for the Gamblers over the weekend.  Novak registered his first career hat trick in Friday’s 5-1 win over the Sioux Falls Stampede. He scored his three goals in three different ways – shorthanded, power play, and even strength.  On Saturday night, the 20-year-old notched a goal and tallied an assist in Green Bay’s 9-4 victory over the Chicago Steel.  Novak has multi-point efforts in four of his last five.  He leads the Gamblers and is third in USHL in scoring with 48 points (18g, 30a) in 37 games this season.

Ian McCoshen, D, Waterloo Black Hawks: The defenseman notched a goal and four assists in three games played last week.  On Tuesday night, The Hudson, WI native handed out an assist in Waterloo’s 4-2 loss to Lincoln.  McCoshen then scored his sixth goal of the season and added two assists to help the Hawks to a 7-3 win over Cedar Rapids on Friday.  He also recorded a plus-three on-ice rating in Friday’s win.  McCoshen now has points in five of his last six games and his 22 points (6g, 16a) ranks him tied for fourth in scoring among USHL.  The 17-year-old is also tied for sixth overall in the League with a plus-23 rating.

Kevin Lindskoug, G, Muskegon Lumberjacks:  The Trelleborg, SWE native snapped a three-game winless streak by backstopping the Lumberjacks to a pair of victories over the weekend.  On Friday night, he put together a 31-save performance to shut out the Sioux Falls Stampede 1-0, earning his USHL-leading sixth shutout of the season.  He turned aside 38-of-39 shots to take down the Indiana Ice 4-1 on Saturday.  Overall on the weekend, Lindskoug posted a 0.50 GAA and a .985 SV%.  He now ranks third amongst USHL goaltenders with a 2.40 GAA and is tops with a .926 SV%. The 20-year-old is second in the League with 17 wins.
