Sugar Kings Campbell Commits to University of Maine

My Story

Press Release

Elmira Sugar Kings announce that 3rd year RW- Brady Campbell has committed to 4 year Division 1 scholarship in Hockey East with the University of Maine Black Bears.

Brady was recruited by Maine's Associate Head Coach Dan Kerluke when a recruiting trip brought Maine's lead Recruiting Coordinator to Stratford on Dec 7th to see all the buzz around the right hand shot sniper that had created so much chatter in NCAA Division 1 circles.

Brady wasted no time impressing the coach with all aspects of his game and posted 2 goals and an assist in a 3-2 shootout win. Brady has done everything he has needed to do, to be recognized by one of the NCAA's elite hockey programs. The Black Bears graduate more players to pro hockey that any other NCAA program in all of North America. Maine's notable Alumni include Paul Kariya and Detroit Red Wings, Jimmy Howard.

Brady recently returned from his official visit in Maine with Head Coach, Tim Whitehead as well as with the schools academic guidance services.

Brady will sign his National Letter of Intent in Orono, Maine in April at the NCAA National Signing. Brady will wear #59 in his freshmen year with the Maine Black Bears and looks forward to getting healthy and returning to the Sugar Kings lineup to help the club push toward the playoffs and a Sutherland Cup Championship.

Brady is currently recovering from a broken cheek bone and is expected to return to the Kings lineup in Mid February in time for the GOJHL playoffs.
