WALKER COMMITS TO BOWLING GREEN

Press Release

Newmarket Hurricanes rookie defenceman Sean Walker (photo credit - Graeme Reid/OJHL Images) has confirmed his commitment to join the Bowling Green State University Falcons beginning with the 2013-14 WCHA season.

The Keswick, Ontario native, who played for the York-Simcoe Express in 2010-11, would play five games as an affiliate with the Hurricanes last season, notching three assists, while spending the majority of the year with the Georgina Ice Junior 'C' club.  Walker joined Newmarket fulltime this season and has helped stabilize the back-end, leading all rearguards in scoring with 24 points in 53 gams played during the regular season, while also playing four games for the OJHL North Division All-Stars at the 2012 Central Canada Cup All-Star Challenge held in Wellington, Ontario.  Walker has continued his stellar play through two rounds of the playoffs, notching three assists thus far as the 'Canes enter the North-East Conference Championship.

Congratulations to Sean and best of luck as he looks to capture an OJHL title to close out his junior career!
