Puskar Commits to AIC

Press Release

Waterloo Black Hawks forward Jon Puskar has committed to American International College and will attend the school beginning this fall.

Puskar, who turns 21 today, was acquired by the Black Hawks in a trade from the Lincoln Stars in early February. During 18 regular season games for Waterloo, the Canton, Michigan native recorded 10 points (4g, 6a). Seven of his ten points were notched in power play situations. Puskar's time with the Hawks was highlighted by a two-goal performance against his former team in Lincoln on March 9th, during an improbable 8-6 comeback victory. In 44 totals games during his lone USHL season, he compiled 21 points (11g, 10a), including two game-winning goals.

"I'm very excited for Jon," said Waterloo Black Hawks Head Coach P.K. O'Handley. "We were thrilled to bring his experience to our roster late in the season, and from the time he arrived, he set a great example for our younger players with his hustle and work ethic."

Puskar spent a comparable amount of time with the Black Hawks as his future Yellow Jacket teammate Nick Grasso. In 2005-2006, Grasso joined Waterloo after starting the season with the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders and appeared in 18 games near the end of that Hawks' campaign. Grasso was a freshman at American International College in 2009-2010. Three other USHL alumni were on the Jackets roster this season; Jeff Ceccacci (Green Bay Gamblers), Nielsson Arcibal (Des Moines Buccaneers), and Richard Leitner (Ohio Junior Blue Jackets).

AIC is located in Springfield, Massachusetts and is a member of the Atlantic Hockey Association.
