GENTZLER BRUSHES UP WITH COLGATE

Press Release

The Surrey Eagles are proud to announce the commitment of Daniel Gentzler to Colgate University next season.

Gentzler had 40 points in 55 games for the Eagles in his first and only season in Surrey. The Manhattan Beach, California native earned himself the hardest worker award from team management for his dedication to the team day in and day out.

#13 on the Eagles was energized by his achievement, “I'd like to thank my family, the coaching staff, and all my teammates for helping me achieve this. I’m really excited to keep playing hockey for another four years which is a dream come true. The small size of the school fits well with my lifestyle and I’m looking forward to head there this fall.”

Eagles Coach Matt Erhart is thrilled with the team’s latest commitment, “Since day one, Daniel has given his heart and soul to the Eagles and we are very excited he has secured his hockey and educational future at a distinguished institution like Colgate.”

Colgate University is a private liberal arts college in Hamilton, New York, USA. A small school with only 2,825 undergraduates, they compete in Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference of NCAA Division 1 Hockey with rivals Cornell, Princeton, Harvard, and Yale. The Colgate Raiders have been regular season champions three times including years 2004 and 2006.
