Kings’ Sinatynski named RBC Player of the Month

Press Release

The RBC Player of the Month is Dauphin Kings’ Jesse Sinatynski, MJHL Commissioner Kim Davis announced today.

The Fort Saskatchewan native was an offensive juggernaut last month, reflected in 24 points (13-9) in nine games for the Sher-Wood Division leading Kings. The 19-year-old forward is also atop the MJHL points race with 41 goals and 61 points after 39 games. Sinatynski is particularly dangerous while on the powerplay, scoring 15 goals while the Kings are on the man advantage.

The runners up are 20 year old forward Andrew Wiebe of the Portage Terriers and 18 year old forward Jared Morris of the Winnipeg Blues.

Sherwood Hockey Defenseman of the Month

The Sher-wood Hockey Defenseman of the Month is 20 year old Brenden Kotyk of the Dauphin Kings.  In addition to outstanding play along the blueline, Kotyk also chipped in offensively with 12 points (4-8) in nine games.

The runners up are 20 year old Dylan Heide of the Selkirk Steelers and 20 year old Steven Sorenson of the Winkler Flyers.

MGEU Goaltender of the Month

This year the race is very tight within the Addison Division, with Portage Terriers, Winnipeg Blues and Winkler Flyers only points apart in the battle for first. One of the reasons for the Terriers’ success has been the play of Shea Cooper, who was named the MGEU Goaltender of the Month.

The 20-year-old netminder  posted a 4-3 record in December, allowing only 16 goals enroute to a 2.28 GAA and one shutout.

The runners up are 18 year old Jayson Argue of the Swan Valley Stampeders and 20 year old Cory Simons of the Waywayseecappo Wolverines.

Husky Energy Rookie of the Month

The Husky Energy Rookie of the Month is 17 year old defenseman Tanner Jago of the Winkler Flyers. The talented freshman was on a point-per-game pace, collecting nine points (2-7) in as many games.

The runners up are 16 year old forward Kurt Keats of the Winnipeg Blues and 18 year old goaltender Isaiah Plett of the Winnipeg Blues.
