SPITS ACQUIRE MCNAUGHTON, DEAL BRAID

Press Release

For the third time in the last five days, General Manager Warren Rychel has made a deal for a defenceman.

On his way to the Spitfires is 17-year-old Jordan McNaughton. In exchange, the Battalion receive forward Brennan Feasey.

A native of Komoka, Ontario, McNaughton was Brampton’s 10th round pick in 2010 and played in six games for the Battalion this season.

With the Jr. B Strathroy Rockets (GOJHL), McNaughton has 6 goals and 13 assists for 19 points in 21 games.

Feasey, Windsor’s 6th round pick in 2010, was pointless in 13 appearances with the Spitfires this season.

With the Jr. B Chatham Maroons, he had 12 goals for 26 points in 18 games.

“This move gives us depth at the defensive position for the next two years,” Rychel told WindsorSpitfires.com. “It is a good deal for both clubs as Brampton improves their depth at forward."

"We wish Brennan all the best.”

BRAID TO SUDBURY

Defenceman Mackenzie Braid is also on the move.

Rychel sent the 18-year-old Mississauga native to Sudbury today. In exchange the Spits receive Sudbury's 13th round pick in the OHL Priority Selection in 2013.

Braid was acquired from the Soo Greyhounds in the Jack Campbell deal back on November 3rd.

In 21 games with the Spitfires, he had one assist and a -6 rating with 19 penalty minutes.

Sudbury will be Braid's third OHL team.
