Winterhawks Acquire Rights To Cam Reid

The Portland Winterhawks have acquired the rights to center Cam Reid from the Edmonton Oil Kings in exchange for an eighth round pick in the 2012 Western Hockey League Bantam Draft.

Reid, drafted by the Nashville Predators in the seventh round of the 2009 National Hockey League Entry Draft, currently plays for St. Cloud State University, where he has six goals and nine assists for 15 points this season as a sophomore. As a freshman last season, Reid had eight goals and 21 assists for 29 points in 37 games.

Prior to attending St. Cloud State, Reid played three seasons in the British Columbia Hockey League with the Victoria Grizzlies and Westside Warriors, where in 167 games he amassed 49 goals and 89 assists for 138 points.
