Chilliwack Chiefs forward Malcolm Gould is the the BCHL Player of the Week for the week ending March 11, the league announced Monday.
Gould’s nine-point week is highlighted by two hat tricks: The first came in a come-from-behind, double-overtime tie against the Coquitlam Express on March 9; his second was on March 10 versus the Westside Warriors. His POW performance helped the Chiefs secure the final playoff spot in the Interior Conference.
The 5-foot-11, 175-pound forward has enjoyed a breakout season, cracking the top 20 in scoring with 36 goals and 36 assists.
Honourable mentions this week go to Merritt Centennials forward Evan Stack (five goals, two assists, two 1st Stars), Coquitlam Express forward Brady Shaw (four goals, three assists), Alberni Valley Bulldogs forward Alex Grupe (three goals, four assists), and Penticton Vees forward Mario Lucia (five goals, one assist, one 1st Star).
