Hyka, Duclair and Marcoux named the TELUS three stars of the week

Tomas Hyka, Anthony Duclair and Étienne Marcoux were named today the TELUS three stars of the week for the period spanning February 27 to March 4, 2012.

Tomas Hyka, the Gatineau Olympiques right-winger, is the first star of the week with 2 goals and 7 assists for a total of 9 points. Wednesday, he was named the 3rd star of the game after having scored a goal in the first period whilst Friday he scored another goal and added two assists in a 4-3 overtime win against the Drummondville Voltigeurs; he was also awarded the second star of the game. The next day in an 8-2 win versus the same Voltigeurs, he added 4 assists to register his 2nd 4-point game of the season.

The second star belongs to Anthony Duclair, the Quebec Remparts left-winger. This 16 year old rookie registered his 25th goal of the season on Wednesday in a 9-2 win against the Baie-Comeau Drakkar. Moreover, he was named the first star of the game after tallying three points. Sunday, in a 4-2 win against the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles, he reached the 60 points plateau by scoring 1 goal and adding 2 assists.

The third star is awarded to goaltender Etienne Marcoux of the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada. He made 29 saves on Friday versus the Baie-Comeau Drakkar in a 6-2 win. Saturday, he shutout the Chicoutimi Saguenéens 5-0. He closed the week off with a save percentage of 0.959 and a goals-against-average of 1.00.
