KOSACK COMMITS TO CANISIUS

Burlington Cougars defenceman Austin Kosack (photo credit - Brian Watts/OJHL) has confirmed his commitment to join the Canisius College Golden Griffins beginning with the 2013-14 Atlantic Hockey season.

The 5'11", 180 lbs native of nearby Oakville, Ontario joined the Cougars defence as a 16-year old followina a tremendous minor midget season with the Oakville Rangers. The offensively gifted rearguard would notch 34 goals and 53 points in 51 games for the Rangers, while helping lead them to a berth in the prestigious OHL Cup. Following the season, Kosack would be drafted by the Brampton Battalion in the 8th round, 147th overall, of the OHL Priority Selection, but would join the Cougars instead.

This past season, the 16-year old finished sixth on the club in overall scoring and first among all rearguards with 23 points in 42 games played, while also gaining some valuable experience during the Cougars playoff run.
