Thunder Bay’s Wolframe named Sportop performer of the month

THUNDER BAY, Ont. – The Superior International Junior Hockey League announced Wednesday that Brandon Wolframe of the Thunder Bay North Stars has been named the Sportop performer of the month for February.

In 13 games this past month the North Stars rookie forward registered 10 goals and added nine assists for 19 points.

Two of his tallies were game-winners and he also set-up another that turned out to be the deciding maker.

Wolframe’s efforts helped his club post an overall 9-3-1 record in February, including the final 11, which were all played on the road.

The Thunder Bay native, who just turned 18 in January, finished his first regular season in the SIJHL tied for second on his team as well as 17th overall in offensive production with 53 points in 51 games on 23 tallies and 30 helpers. He was also sixth in the league in game-winning goals with six.

Wolframe will be recognized at a future game and presented with a gift pack courtesy of Sportop Marketing Inc.

Honourable mention for the Sportop performer of the month award for February went to the following:
