VANCOUVER GIANTS: New Ticketing Partnership

Press Release

The Vancouver Giants Hockey Club, in conjunction with the Pacific National Exhibition (PNE), is pleased to announce a new ticketing partnership with TicketOps, a Canadian-owned ticketing specialist company. The new partnership will come into effect on April 30, 2012, when both parties’ current contracts with TicketMaster expire. The new ticketing system, Ticketleader.ca, will be powered by Paciolan software, the second-largest ticketing software company in North America behind Ticketmaster.

Giants Majority Owner Ron Toigo: “The net result of this change will be lower ticketing fees and increased functionality for all Giants ticket purchasers. We’ll be able to offer Season Ticket Holders a higher level of customer service, while also being able to keep prices as low as possible for single-game buyers. Paciolan & TicketOps bring years of expertise to the table, so we’re quite confident the transition will be seamless for our fans, and will result in a better buying experience across the board.”

Vice President of Operations Peter Toigo adds: “The new Ticketleader.ca system, along with the recent addition of four new staff members to our in-house Ticket Department, will bring our overall sales and service levels to new heights. And the best part is we’ll be able to achieve all of this while keeping costs low for our fans. We already have the best sports-entertainment value in the city, and now it just got even better.”

Giants Season Ticket Holders will be the first to enjoy the new system as part of the renewal process for the 2012/2013 season, while the change for single-game buyers will come into effect in September 2012. Should the Giants advance deep into this year’s WHL Playoffs, which would see the Championship Series take place in early May, more details will be announced at that time.
