The
Ottawa 67’s today announced that forward Remy Giftopoulos has been
traded to the Windsor Spitfires in exchange for 2 draft picks and that
winger Mark Petaccio has been acquired from the Sault Ste. Marie
Greyhounds in exchange for an 9th round draft pick in this May’s OHL Priority Selection Draft.
“We wish Remy all the best and thank him for his contributions here in Ottawa,” said 67’s Coach and GM Chris Byrne. “In Petaccio, we’ve picked up a strong two-way player who can help us now and next season as well.”
The 67’s gained a 7th round draft pick from the Spitfires, which they had previously acquired from the Erie Otters, and the Spitfires 4th round draft pick in 2015.
18 year old Petaccio, a 6’3” 190 pound right winger, had 3 goals in 26 games with the Greyhounds this season, and he was a -3 in the +/- department, playing the majority of his shifts against opponent’s top lines.
