The Chilliwack Chiefs have acquired 19 year old forward Philip Zielonka from the Coquitlam Express in exchange for forward Garrett Forster, defenseman Ben Israel and future considerations. Zielonka, who has a commitment to Harvard University, has scored 20 goals and 13 assists in 24 games this season with the Express.
Head Coach and General Manager Harvey Smyl says the Point Claire, Quebec native will add scoring punch to the line-up, ”Philip is a real competitive and intelligent player who has very good hands. He is a real offensive threat every time he is on the ice.”
As for Zielonka, he is happy to be suiting up for the Chiefs, “Chilliwack has a really strong team this year and I am excited to be joining them for the play off drive.”
The Chiefs organization would like to thank Garrett Forster and Ben Israel for their commitment to Chiefs Hockey on and off of the ice in Chilliwack and wish them the best of luck in their future hockey endeavors.
