Clippers add 4 Players on Deadline Day

Nanaimo BC– The Nanaimo Clippers are pleased to announce the following transactions that took place during the CJHL Trade Deadline on January 10th.

The Nanaimo Clippers have acquired D Brock Maschmeyer (92) from the Fort McMurray Oil Barons of the AJHL in exchange for F Kevin Miller (94) and Future Considerations. The 5’9”, 170 lbs Maschmeyer was the runner up for Defenseman of the Year in the AJHL the past 2 seasons. In 15 games this year he has put up 1 goal and 4 assists. In 246 career games, Maschmeyer has 25 goals and 92 assists, while picking up only 185 penalty minutes.

The Clippers also acquired F Aaron Hadley (93) from the Vernon Vipers in exchange for Future Considerations. Hadley is 6’3”, 200 lbs and was 3rd in team scoring for the Vipers with 12 Goals and 8 Assists in 33 games. He was also the Captain of Team Canada West at the World Junior A Challenge this season.

The Nanaimo Clippers are also pleased to welcome two players from the VIJHL. The Clippers have added local Nanaimo forward Corey Renwick (95). Corey has played this season for the Nanaimo Buccaneers, and put up 8 goals and 10 assists in 32 games, helping to lead the Buc’s to first place in the VIJHL’s North Division. Corey also had 1 Goal and 1 Assist in 2 games as an AP with the Powell River Kings this season. The team has also added F Garrett Brandsma (93) from the Victoria Cougars. In 32 games this season, Garrett has scored 27 goals and added 14 assists. He also appeared in 2 games last season for the Clippers as an AP.

The entire Clippers organization would like to wish Kevin the best of luck in Fort McMurray. They would also like to welcome Corey, Brock, Aaron and Garrett to the hockey club.
