Press Release
CALGARY, AB. – The Western Hockey League announced today that Jordan Cooke, of the Kelowna Rockets, has been named the VAUGHN WHL Goaltender of the Month for December.
The 19 year-old goaltender from Leduc, AB, posted a 6-0-0-0 record
through December and is currently on an 11 game win streak (Nov. 23 –
present). Cooke’s 2.00 goals-against average led all
WHL goaltenders (minimum 300 minutes played) while posting 0.908 save
percentage, allowing just 12 goals on 131 shots-against in 360 minutes
played. His efforts also earned him a Three Star selection two times,
with one being a 1st Star.
Cooke currently ranks 6th among all WHL goaltenders with a 2.48 goals-against average and 5th
with 18 wins, in 28 games-played thus far this season. His consistent
play helped the Rockets to a sizzling 10-2-0-0 record in December and
currently sit third in the WHL Western Conference with a 27-10-1-1
record for 26 points.
His accomplishments make Jordan Cooke a deserving choice as the VAUGHN WHL Goaltender of the Month for December.
