Force Rookie Commits to Cornell University

Press Release

The Fargo Force announced that forward Michael Booth has committed to play collegiate hockey at Cornell University following his USHL career.

Booth has played in all but two of his team’s 34 games this season and put up 12 points (4g, 8a).  In just his fourth USHL game, he scored a pair of goals in less than four minutes, including the game-winner in the 6-5 win against Indiana on October 11th.  The next evening, he again scored the game-winning goal in the 6-3 victory over Sioux City.  Booth has four multi-point games during his rookie USHL season.

The 16-year-old from Cary, Illinois was selected by the Force in the second round (29th overall) of the 2012 USHL Futures Draft last May.

Four other current USHL players are committed to play hockey at Cornell University, including Jeff Kubiak (Chicago Steel), Woody Hudson (Indiana Ice), Alex Rauter (Omaha Lancers), and Ryan Bliss (Team USA).

Cornell University is a member of the ECAC and has 11 USHL alumni on the roster this season for the Ivy League school; Cole Bardreau (Team USA), Armand de Swardt (Chicago Steel), Andy Iles (Team USA), Vince Mihalek (Cedar Rapids RoughRiders), Joakim Ryan (Dubuque Fighting Saints), John McCarron (Lincoln Stars), Brian Ferlin (Indiana Ice), Jacob MacDonald (Waterloo Black Hawks), Christian Hilbrich (Indiana Ice), Gavin Stoick (Team USA), and Teemu Tiitinen (Lincoln Stars).
