Indiana's Chitwood signs NAHL tender with Brookings

Press Release

The Indiana Jr. Ice of the North American Prospects Hockey League (NAPHL) have announced that 18U forward Joe Chitwood has signed an NAHL tender with the Brookings Blizzard.  Brookings plays out of the Central Division of the North American Hockey League (NAHL).

Chitwood, 17, has played in 12 NAPHL games so far this season for the Ice, recording four goals and five assists for nine points.  The native of Carmel, Indiana, is tied for 7th in team scoring so far this season for the Ice, who enter the final regular season event of the 2012-13 season in good position to make the top 8 of the playoffs.

Chitwood (5’8/175) played last season for the Indiana Jr. Ice 16U team, which ending up winning the 2012 NAPHL Championship.  Chitwood was second on the team in scoring last season with 23 points in 18 regular season games.  During the playoffs, he had five points in five games played.

Chitwood is the second player from the Indiana Jr. Ice to sign an NAHL tender this season .  Earlier in the year, forward Evan Okeley signed a tender with the Wichita Falls Wildcats.
