Lancers Rookie Commits to Providence College

Press Release

The Omaha Lancers announced the forward Ryan Tait has committed to play hockey at Providence College following his USHL career.

The first-year forward has collected four assists in 28 games for the Lancers this season.  He was acquired by the Lancers last spring via the USHL’s new tender system, signing him prior to the USHL Futures Draft.  The 16-year-old is a native of Santa Clarita, California and led Shattuck-St. Mary’s Prep School Under-16 team in scoring last season with 63 points (26g, 37a).

Three other current USHL players are also committed to Providence – Dylan McLaughlin (Cedar Rapids RoughRiders), Nick Ellis (Des Moines Buccaneers), and Kyle McKenzie (Dubuque Fighting Saints).

Providence College is a member of Hockey East and there are six USHL alumni on the Friars roster this season; Mark Adams (Chicago Steel), Stefan Demopoulos (Omaha Lancers), Alex Velischek (Sioux City Musketeers), John Gilmour (Cedar Rapids RoughRiders), Nick Saracino (Cedar Rapids RoughRiders), and Jon Gillies (Indiana Ice).
