Michael Pontarelli is the CCHL player of the month

Pontarelli earned the Corporate Hype award for December, picking up 16 points in eight games for the Colts.

He had seven goals and nine assists, and is currently on a 17-game scoring streak. Pontarelli is fourth overall in league scoring with 62 points and leads the CCHL in goals with 30.

Honorable mentions for the award went to forward Ben Blasko  of the Brockville Braves), forward Fabian Walsh of the Kanata Stallions and defenceman Andrew DeBrincat of the Cumberland Grads.

Charlie Millen of the Ottawa Junior Senators has been selected goalie of the month. Millen went a perfect 5-0 in December, with one shutout.

Honorable mentions for the award went to Brandon Lane  of the Kanata Stallions and Carmine Guerriero of the Hawkesbury Hawks.

Kelly Summers of the Carleton Place Canadians is the rookie of the month award winner. Summers won the same accolade in October and continues to play an integral role for the Canadians’ defence. He has earned a scholarship and committed to Clarkson (2013-14 season), and is currently top 10 in league scoring for defencemen with 23 points (10G, 13A).   Honorable mentions for the award went to forward  Hunter Racine of the Ottawa Jr. Senators and forward Patrick White of the Gloucester Rangers.
