Press Release
EVERETT
– The Everett Silvertips today announced the acquisition of a
sixth-round pick in the 2014 WHL Bantam Draft from the Victoria Royals
in exchange for the services of 1994-born forward Trent Lofthouse. The
Silvertips now possess 11 selections over the first seven rounds of the
2014 bantam draft.
Lofthouse,
18, is in his second WHL season after coming to Everett as a list
player. In 34 games for the Silvertips this season, the Surrey, BC
native has totaled 12 points on nine goals and 3 assists. He also has
19 penalty minutes and a -2 plus/minus rating.
“This
deal gives us another chance to continue building through the bantam
draft in the long term while giving more ice time and development
opportunities to our young forwards in the short term,” said General
Manager Garry Davidson. “We’d like to thank Trent for the work he has
put in as an Everett Silvertip and wish him the best of luck in
Victoria.”
A 6-foot-3,
185-pound winger, Lofthouse recorded five points (2g/3a) in 58 games as a
rookie last season. He also appeared in three playoff games with the
Silvertips in 2012. In 92 regular season WHL appearances, Lofthouse has
11 goals, six assists, 17 points, 43 penalty minutes and a -23 rating.
