AMERICANS' 40th WIN TIES WHL RECORD

Press Release

Kennewick, WA – The Tri-City Americans posted their 40th win of the 2012-13 season on Friday night with a 6-4 victory over the Kootenay Ice to mark the seventh straight season which the team has won 40 or more games, equaling a WHL record.

With the accomplishment, the Americans join the Regina Pats (1979-86) and the Kamloops Blazers (1989-96) as WHL Clubs to have posted 40 or more wins in seven consecutive seasons.

The Americans have won an impressive 329 games over the last seven seasons since starting the streak with a 47-23-1-1 record in 2006-07, and have won four U.S Division titles and one Scotty Munro Memorial Trophy in that span.  The team has won at least 47 games in five of their previous six seasons, and twice recorded 50 or more wins.

The WHL congratulates the Tri-City Americans’ franchise on their accomplishment.
