Attack Set New Attendance Mark

Press Release

The Owen Sound Attack is pleased to announce that on March 9th, the Attack organization set a new franchise single season attendance mark. Saturday’s attendance of 3228 brought the 2012/2013 season total to 100,659, smashing the previous record of 97,619 that was set in 2011/2012. The Attack still has one regular season home game remaining to build upon their record.

With an expected crowd of well over 3000 on Saturday night, the Attack will have averaged over 3000 fans per game for the first time in franchise history (currently 3050), meaning the Attack averaged 102% of seating capacity.

“The support we receive from Owen Sound and our surrounding communities is of the best in the OHL,” stated Attack President Dr. Severs. “We are very fortunate to have such passionate, dedicated fans and for that we are grateful.”

“We have seen a definite increase in children, youth and younger families attending the games.”, states Attack Director of Marketing and Public Relations, Brent Fisher. “Aside from having a great on-ice product, our school programs, fundraising programs and Tim Horton’s Mini Games, in part have all contributed to our increase in attendance.”

The entire Attack Ownership Group, management and players wish to thank Owen Sound and area fans for all of their dedication and support of Attack hockey.

The Attack will advance to the post season for the third straight year, beginning Thursday March 21st at home. A full playoff schedule for several different scenarios is expected later today.
