Blades Sign Three Prospects

Press Release

The Saskatoon Blades Hockey Club is very pleased to have Cameron Hebig, Clayton Kirichenko and Austin Adamson commit to our organization and the Western Hockey League.  The three players have been signed to standard Western Hockey League Education Contracts.

Cameron Hebig was the Blades first selection in the 2012 WHL Bantam Draft, being taken in the 3rd round, 56th overall.  Hebig spent the 2012-13 season with the Saskatoon Contacts, playing Midget AAA.

"We see Cameron as being a key part of our future," said Saskatoon Blades Assistant General Manager Jarrod Brodsky.  "He is a dynamic skater with a great work ethic and a very good skill set."

Clayton Kirichenko was selected in the 2011 WHL Bantam Draft, being taken in the 7th round, 154th overall.  He has spent the last two years playing Midget AAA in Sherwood Park, Alberta.

"Clayton has shown steady improvement over the last couple of seasons," said Brodsky.  "He has really taken a huge step in his development this year.  He's the type of defenceman that does a little bit of everything."

Austin Adamson was listed by the Blades earlier this season after attending training camp.  He spent this year with the Vancouver Canadians, playing Major Midget.

"Austin came to our camp last year and earned a spot on our protected list," said Brodsky.  "He has had a great year and has earned himself a contract.  He's a hard working and skilled forward."

The Saskatoon Blades would like to welcome Cameron, Clayton, Austin and their families to the organization.
