Matt Tomkins Wins 2012-2013 Pro Hockey Life Award

Press Release

Goaltender Matt Tomkins of the Sherwood Park Crusaders is the winner of the 2012-2013 Pro Hockey Life Award.  Tomkins was selected as the Pro Hockey Life Star of the Game 14 times in the regular season and accumulated 70 points in the Pro Hockey Life Award standings.  Tomkins was presented with the award by AJHL Commissioner Ryan Bartoshyk in a pre-game ceremony tonight in Sherwood Park, AB.

Matt Tomkins has committed to Ohio State Buckeyes for the 2013-14 season.  Tomkins was selected by the Chicago Blackhawks in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft (7th round, 199th overall).

Each of the 480 AJHL regular season games feature the Pro Hockey Life Stars of the Game, which recognizes a player from each team deemed to be that night's top player.  Every time a player is recognized as a Pro Hockey Life Star of the Game, they receive five (5) points towards the pursuit of the Pro Hockey Life Award, which is presented at the end of the regular season.
