Officials Named for USHL Clark Cup Finals

Press Release

The United States Hockey League and USA Hockey's Officiating Development Program (ODP) today named the officials who are assigned to work the 2010 USHL Clark Cup Finals between the Green Bay Gamblers and the Fargo Force.

The USHL will utilize the four-man officiating system throughout the Clark Cup Finals beginning with Game One in Green Bay on Friday April 30th.

"Our Board of Directors has once again decided to use four-man crews throughout the Clark Cup Finals, as part of our ongoing commitment to the development of the League's on-ice staff as well its players," said USHL Commissioner Skip Prince. "Our officials are like the players - the best at their level of development anywhere in the world. Congratulations to the young men selected on the quality of their work, day in and day out, and for earning these game assignments."

Referees assigned to the series include; Boone Bruggman (Wenatchee, WA) and Geoff Miller (North Hampton, NH), who are both working their first Clark Cup Finals, and Curtis Marouelli (Edmonton, AB) who earned his second assignment to the USHL championship series.

Joining the referees are linesmen Brian Oliver (Rochester, NY) who is working his third Cup Finals, Judson Ritter (Belvedere, NJ) and Dana Penkivech (Apple Valley, MN) both working their second final series, and Dan Cohen (Ft. Wayne, IN) earning his first Clark Cup Finals assignment.

In addition, USHL officials Jonathan Morrison, Peter Tarnaris, and Brandon Schmitt will serve as goal judges and as back-up on-ice officials throughout the series. All of the officials were chosen based on input of the ODP staff and from USHL coaches and general managers.

"The USHL and ODP have selected experienced officials for the Clark Cup Finals who have not only worked extensively in the USHL, but have worked in multiple minor professional leagues throughout the United States," said Scott Brand, USHL Director of Operations and USA Hockey's Coordinator for the ODP. "They represent some of the best young officials that continue to develop in the USHL and the ODP."
