Grieve takes POW honours with seven points in four games

Press Release

Westside Warriors forward Alex Grieve has been named the British Columbia Hockey League's Player of the Week for the week ending Dec. 19, the league announced Monday.

Grieve led the Warriors to three wins in four games and led BCHL scorers for the week with seven points including a pair of two-goal games.

The Calgary native scored at least one point in each of his team's contests and factored in game star selections three times.

Grieve, 20, set up the winning goal in a 6-4 comeback win on the road against the Salmon Arm SilverBacks and had his most productive game the next night with two goals and a helper in another 6-4 win over the Gorillas.

The Warriors leading point-getter cracked the top 10 in league scoring with his performance last week.

Honourable mentions this week go to Powell River forward Chad Niddery (two games, 1 goal/5 assists), Salmon Arm forward David Killip (three games, 3 goals/3 assists) and Nanaimo forward Andrew Gladiuk (four games, 2 goals/4 assists).
